This piece is made from high end dichroic and streaky art glass among other scraps of various types of glass. Bright blue translucent glass is the backdrop for this stately pink flamingo. The vegetation is made from various shades of green and brown glass all fused in my kiln on a full fuse schedule The chimes are made of clear art glass with various pink, green and blue transparent and iridescent shards.
The piece hangs from a galvanized silver tone chain and has a keychain ring for hanging. The chimes hang from 20 gage silver tone wire beads dressed up with purchased crystal pink and yellow beads.
I had planned to make a bowl out of this piece by slumping it in my kiln using my bowl mold. However, once it was fully fused, I decided at the last minute to make chimes out of it because of the iridescent qualities. It just begged to be hung in the sunshine.
I always design my own art and all glass is hand cut, never using manufactured shapes.
